Dallas Conference
It has been a long time since I have left my wife and travel out of town. I had an opportunity to go to Arlington, Texas for a Technology conference. There was several of us that was flying together. We were suppose to leave on Sunday April 7, 2019 at 2:30 pm. We woke up to a big storm, raining heavy and strong winds. It was not looking so good for us for flying. At around 10:00 am we received news that our flight was cancelled because Dallas was getting severe storms and was canceling flights. So we were re-booked for the next morning at 8:00 am. We took off from Corpus Christi Airport at 8:16 am. We flew in an Embraer E-175 with American Airlines.

The flight was nice. It took us right at an hour to get to Dallas Airport. I brought a carry on with me but checked it in at the last minute. I was happy that I did because the plane was very crowded and people were having a problem getting overhead space. When we went to the baggage claim area it only took about 20 minutes and I had my bag. We then had to wait for the shuttle from the airport to the Sheraton. We waited about 45 minutes and the drive took about 30 minutes for us to get to the hotel.
The conference was nice but was especially nice because Joseph is someone that is easy to talk to. He is mellow and enjoys going out and doing things. We walked out to the Texas Ranger stadium and visited the little restaurants near by and that was nice. The two mornings that we were there we got up at 5:00 and went to work out. The first morning we worked out in the hotel’s fitness center. The second morning Joseph worked out in the fitness center, I went out and ran. It was really nice to run in the morning. It was very peaceful and very pretty. I ran near the Ranger stadium with the AT&T stadium on my right about a mile away.
The flight back was nice. We flew out of Dallas. We had several hours to waste so Laura Monette, Joseph and I ate at a TGIF in the airport. I was pleasantly surprised at the quality of food at a not that big of a price. When we got into Corpus it was about 1800. I parked my car at the airport that way I could just jump in and get home. It cost $21.00 for three days so that was not bad at all. Over all a better trip that I thought it would be. But I was very glad to be home with my family. Really missed my wife. 🙂
